According to the National Funeral Directors Association, the average cost of a funeral today is more than $7,000 dollars, up more than $700 in the past three years. There can also be additional fees: clergy, newspaper obituaries, flowers. Are you looking for a less expensive, yet thoughtful way to say goodbye to a loved one? We can provide a way to remember and honor a loved one during this time of loss. We have 2 options.
- Unattended Scattering at Sea: Scattering the remains at sea, plus flowers if desired. A committal reading or prayer by the Captain if also desired, and the recording of latitude and longitude. Each family receives a notarized certificate documenting latitude, longitude, distance from shore, vessel name, and port of departure. – Ash Scattering Unattended $199.00
- Attended Committal with a group of up to 4. Includes a gathering of up to four family members or friends. Committal of the remains to the sea by the family themselves or with the Captain’s assistance. This will allow the family to participate in the actual scattering into the sea. Each family receives a notarized certificate documenting latitude, longitude, distance from shore, vessel name, and port of departure. Because of the distance offshore required, an early morning committal is highly recommended. – Ash Scattering Attended $279.00
